Rosie Mae Harmon, affectionately known as “Ro Mae,” received her education through the Northampton County Public School system. She was later employed by Holly Farms (Tyson Foods), where she dedicated 29½ years of service before retiring.
She was a faithful member of Shortest Chapel Church in Bridgetown, Virginia. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless, and westerns, to name a few. She also loved cooking for her family, with pound cake and rice pudding being among her favorite dishes to prepare.
Ro Mae was loved by everyone she encountered and was known for greeting others with a warm smile. She was truly a blessing to all who knew her.
Rosie Mae Harmon departed this life peacefully on January 13, 2026, at Norfolk General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her father, Mercer Harmon; her mother, Maggie Perkins Johnson; her grandparents, Jimmy and Annie Perkins; her sister, Beatrice Perkins; two daughters, Gail Williams and Terry Edwards; and two great-grandsons, Zahir Robinson and Nashawn Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son, George Harmon; three daughters, Jane Harmon (Danny), Maggie Harmon (David), and Rose Harmon; fifteen grandchildren, Terrance Harmon (Sonia), Dwayne Harmon (Danielle), Alventhius Williams (Miranda), Angel Anthony, Lakisha Harmon, Deoanndray Harmon (Latasha), Marlo Williams, Billie Jean Harmon, Larry Landram III (Anna), Matthew Landram, Deon Harmon, Raneaka Harmon, Rocqueline Green, Denelle Williams, and Randy Williams; thirty-one great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one special nephew, Demetrius Johnson; five nieces who were like daughters, Etta Williams, Cheryl Ann Parker, Diane Jones, Martha Riley, and Lolita Hall; and a host of other relatives and friends. She also leaves to cherish her memory her beloved fur baby, Fe-Fe.
