Robert Morris was born on January 17, 1939, to the late Henry and Ellen Reid Morris, he was the second eldest son. The late Gertrude Morris was his wife. Robert gained his eternal wings on July 22, 2024, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Robert (Gabby) received his education in the Northampton Public School System. He was employed by Webster Factory, both on and offshore from Virginia to Baltimore and the town of Cape Charles.
Robert had a true love and passion, for singing with the Morris Singers. He enjoyed fishing, whistling, playing cards and dominoes. He admired and loved his family and friends; he enjoyed spending quality time with them. Baseball was a sport that he loved so dearly, and he had a special interest in fashion. His favorite baseball team was the Boston Red Sox, and his favorite football team was the Baltimore Colts.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Ellen Reid Morris, daughter, Teresa Edwards, and brothers, Darnell Brisco, Chauncey Morris, Henry Morris, Arthur Lee Morris, Robert Cyprus.
Robert leaves to cherish his precious memories: his daughters, Mary Goffigon (Roy), Machipongo, Virginia, Tangier Trower, Machipongo, Virginia, Vinetta Smaw, Hampton Roads, his sons, Robert Morris (Jerrita) Hawaii, Kevin Morris (Lisa) New Mexico, Timothy Morris of Texas and Damon Garrison (Hope) of South Carolina; brothers Clarence Reid (Betty) Machipongo, Virginia, Donald Weeks (Mary) Cheriton, Virginia, Ronald Weeks of North Carolina, sisters Mary Ellen Morris, Machipongo, Virginia, Maggie Custis (George), Machipongo, Virginia, Shirley Morris, Machipongo, Virginia, Deloris Morris (Steve) Hare Valley, Virginia, Lucinda Cyprus Hampton Roads, sister in laws, Audrey, Rhonda, Lily Mae, Betty and Harriett, thirty-seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, other families, and friends.
