Perley Alexander Ames Obituary

Perley Alexander Ames, Sr. attended Northampton Public
Schools. Perley was a worker from an early age and he always
provided for his family. He worked on Ross Lattimer’s farm.
Later he became a waterman. When things got slow on the
water, he found his new passion with Perdue Farms, where he
worked for 25+ years. After his retirement, he picked up
painting and making portraits which became his latest
hobbies. But there was nothing he loved more than spending
time with family. Perley also loved talking about politics.
Perley was predeceased by his loving wife, Nyoka Jones
Ames; parents, Victor Hugo Ames and Evelyn Weeks Ames;

from his side, Sabor Tolliver, Milton Jones, Sr., Milton Jones,
Jr., Milton Walter Giles, Jannie Smith, Fransie Jones, John

and son; Perley Alexander Ames, Jr.; grandchildren, Nyya
