Ora Lee Watson Obituary
Ora Lee Watson, the youngest of eight children, was the daughter of the late Charles Watson Sr. and Carrie Press Watson. She came into this world on September 24, 1935, in
Cheriton, VA. and passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, at Parksley Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center. Both of her maternal and paternal grandparents predeceased her in
death.
At an early age, she confessed her belief in Christ and was baptized at African Baptist Church. She sang on Choir #2 until her health no longer permitted her to do so. She
received her education in Northampton Public Schools, graduating in 1955 from Northampton County High in Machipongo. Subsequently, she attended Morgan State College until she returned home to tend to her ailing mother.
Ora Lee worked as a teacher's aide at Cheriton Primary School. She also worked at Eastern Shore Seafood in Exmore. Then, she worked at Purdue Farms fourteen years, leaving after the death of her brothers. Ora Lee was the "life of the party" and kept things lively. Around her, there was rarely a dull moment. She always had something to say, whether you liked it or not. She was special that way, a special part of the family. She will be missed and remembered by all.
Oral Lee was predeceased by her mother, father and seven siblings, Virginia, Francis, Estelle, Charles Jr., Mary, Theodore, and Sam. She leaves to cherish her memories her beloved son, Byron, Cheriton VA; three grandsons, Byron Watson Jr., Italy, Breon Jones, Richmond, VA, and Branton Jones, Chesapeake, VA; four great grandchildren, Zoey, Lia, Layla and Isiah, a host of nieces including Shirleen Mitchell Church, Arlene Tatum Joynes (Edward), Lucinda Tatum Collins, Melissa Tatum-Garrett, Deneen Tatum Alexander, a host of nephews and cousins, an adopted son, Thomas Weatherly and an adopted daughter, Tanya Kates, and a host of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Hospice Riverside employees, Julie and Alisia.
