CELEBRATING TERRESA
Teressa Michelle Madry was born unto the late Clinton “Eastwood” Dorsey and Mable “Smabe” Madry Laster on March 4, 1964. She departed this life peacefully on October 27, 2020 after fighting Breast Cancer for several years.
The oldest among the siblings, Teressa was a native of Harford County where she attended Aberdeen High School and graduated in 1982. Nicknamed “Teressa Gator” by her late Uncle Andrew Madry, she was employed by U.S. Army Aberdeen Proving Ground, U.S. Customs Baltimore, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Perryman. During her later years, she was a loving, caring and devoted Caregiver for many organizations and families in both Harford and Baltimore County. She personified “The closest thing to being cared for is to care for others”
Though fighting Breast Cancer, Teressa continued to help the needy and the homeless. It was important for her to give back and give she did. She gave throughout her life; she didn’t let her battle with Breast Cancerstop her. In October 2019, Teressa seized the momentand brought forth an outstanding Breast Cancer Awareness presentation at her home church, Shekinah Temple of Christ, Inc. formally known as El-Shaddai Temple of Christ Jesus. Informative, personal, inspiring and compelling, her presentation was unforgettable.
Not one to sit still Teressa enjoyed visiting. The late Andrew Edward Madry and the late Lucille Dean Madry, aka “Pop Pop and Lucy Girl” house was one of her favorite places. She also enjoyed making sweets, making and selling her special teas and kool aids, spending time with family, watching the Baltimore Ravens play football, music, spending time with family, fellowshipping with various churches within Harford County and she loved preaching the Word.
Teressa leaves to cherish her memory: her sons - Travon N. Madry and Kairen J. Madry-Hall; mother - Mabel Laster; sisters – S. Jowanda Dorsey. Sharmetta Hibbs, Tamika Dorsey and Barbara Dorsey-Cooper; great nieces – Ja’La S. Dorsey and Jazlynn S.
