CELEBRATING SHIRLEY
Shirley Owens was born on July 24, 1945 and she departed her earthly home on May 6, 2021; and gained her heavenly wings.
Shirley was a very family oriented woman. In her spare time, she enjoyed laughing and joking around with others. She greatly enjoyed spending quality time with her family. Shirley loved going to yard sales. She enjoyed sitting on her porch getting fresh air and she loved her cigarettes. She also loved watching Westerns and had to have her coffee. She just had to have her coffee or her day would not be smooth. She would occasionally enjoy sleeping in. Shirley also enjoyed running her little store out of her home every summer; which she always looked forward to. She loved shopping and ordering items from various stores. But most of all, she was a loving and devoted grandmother to her four grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. And let’s not forget, she really adored her Pastor and church family.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Essie Mae Owens, sister Annette Freeman (husband Warren Freeman, still living), brothers James Owens Jr. & Charles Goffigon (wife Mary Jane Goffigon, still living), great-grandchildren Garnesey & Ashanti, best friend Myrtis Ames.
