Ms. Sandra (Cookie) Bell Obituary

Sandra Denise (Cookie) Bell as she was affectionately known was born on April 10, 1956, to Richard Bell and Kathleen Smith Bell in Northampton County, VA. She went home to be with the Lord on Monday,  October 14, 2024,at Leigh Memorial Hospital, Virginia Beach, VA surrounded by her family.

Sandra was saved under the leadership of Bishop Estella D. Smith, Mt. Sinai Gospel Tabernacle and later joined, New Jerusalem Holiness church under the leadership of Elder Anthony Ruffin and after the homegoing of Elder Ruffin, she was under the leadership of Pastor Lummie Smith where she was a faithful member. She was a very active member at New Jerusalem until the 2020 pandemic hit. It was then she changed her membership but not before talking with her pastor. She then rejoined Mt. Siani Gospel Tabernacle, under the leadership of Pastor Ornia Diary Dixon.

Sandra (Cookie) attended the Northampton County Public School from which she graduated.

Some of her favorite songs were “Life is Just a Ballgame” and “He’s an on-time God, There’s a Leak in this Old Building and my Soul has got to Move, along with many others as she always wore a smile on her face and if you asked her how she was doing, her response would be I’m blessed by the best and I’m doing fine!!!!

In 1980 “Cookie” became ill and couldn’t work, where our sister Wanda put her education on hold to take care of her and help raise her children.  God loaned Cookie to us for 44 more years until He called her home.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories one daughter Kimacha(LeVar) Myrick, Colorado Springs, CO, two sons, Lester DeShaun(Montyneke)Bell, Hinesville, GA, Quention(Pecola) Bell, Clarksville, Tennessee, ten grandchildren, Samari Bell, Tyshawanna Johnson, QuaMaine Bell-Johnson, Malcolm Dykes, Marhari Henderson-Bell, Nooriyana Bell, Quentin Bell, Jr, Christopher Bell, Jamary Bell, Danielle Jonhson, two great grands, Tanaya, and Elena, mother Kathleen S. Bell, three sisters Kathleen B. Lewis-Iriving, Shirley (William)Bell-Northan, Wanda Bell-Griffin, two adopted sisters Pamela (James) Baker, Patricia (Anderson) three brothers, Richard (Paula) Bell, Willie(Marsha)Bell, Gharkarhi Btembke and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, close friends Freddie Baker and Donetta Davis, and Paulette Williams.

Cookie was predeceased in death by her father Richard Bell and brother Stanley Bell.
