Ruby later became a CNA and worked for Hermitage Nursing Home in Onancock, Virginia and Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Nassawadox, Virginia until her retirement in 2015.
Ruby was a faithful member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church. She served on the senior choir, Jeffery L. Smith Gospel Choir, and on the Pastor’s Aide ministry.
