On Thursday, June 15, 2023, The Lord gave his faithful servant, devoted brother, cherished cousin, uncle and friend, David Wayne Glover His Heavenly Wings.
He left his earthly home to transition over to become a life-long member of Eternal Healing in God’s Holy Kingdom. He was preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Irene Glover and a brother David Jerome Glover and a devoted partner Jack Brandt, of Richmond, VA.
David accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. He was baptized and joined Second Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Gladstone, Virginia. Later in life, he moved his membership to Second Presbyterian Church of Richmond, Virginia.
David grew up in Gladstone, where he graduated from Nelson County High School as an academic scholar. He excelled in track and field, winning the indoor state meet in the high jumpand was named athlete of the year his senior year. After graduation, he pursued higher education goals at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA., where he graduated Summa Cum Lauda and pledged Sigma Psi Epsilon Fraternity. He was a life member of Virginia IOTA. He also continued his track progression there and still holds the high jump record.
David began his employment career in the Fast Food Industry, managing several fast food chains. Always a people person with impeccable customer service capabilities, he then advanced toward the hotel enterprise. He was employed at “The Jefferson Hotel” as The Front Desk Manager. A prestigious hotel in Richmond, VA. David facilitated the entrance and sometimes was the first face guests might see when they arrived. His infectious smile and gleaming personality that could light up any room, enabled “The Jefferson Hotel to continue its Five Star Rating for the 17 years that he was employed there. He was highly admired by guests whom would rave about his impressive, respectful character and down to earth human nature.
David was very humble with the gifts he possessed and shared kindly and unselfishly with others. He believed ultimately in blessing others from the rewards that God had so graciously bestowed upon him.
Despite his large extended family, David always made time for everyone. He was re-energized through his many friendships and acquaintances. He was curious and always took the time to chat, which made his life fuller. He shared his luxuries of life with his family members by constantly displaying diligence, support and his own kind of brotherly love.
He will be missed dearly by his family, who are so thankful he is no longer in pain and is now enjoying his reawakening toward his homegoing passageway to live eternally with His Lord and Savor Jesus Christ.
He leaves loving memories of him to be cherished by his family, Peggy Revely, Brenda Carpenter (Timmy), Kenneth L. Glover (Wilhelmina), Debra Turner (David) all of Madison Heights, VA., Elmer Glover, Charlotte, N. C., Robert Lee Glover and Ethel Lee Glover, both of Huntington, W. Va.
He was blessed with eight nieces and nephews. Felicia Carpenter, Keona Canada, Jericah Glover, Kenneth A. Glover, Dashay Glover, R. C. Carpenter, Brian Glover and Brennan Glover. Several devoted friend, Yvonne Wood, Terrie Sheets, of Richmond, VA., Alexander Robinson of Delaware, Selina Lewis, Of Palmyra, VA.
