Mr. Daniel Wharton

CELEBRATING DANIEL 

Daniel Ny'Sheyr Wharton, 19, passed away on December 5, 2021, with his family by his side. Daniel was the loving son of Tara Wharton and Elwood Miles. 

Daniel was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. He spent most of his days playing football and basketball with brother and friends in the neighborhood. He also spent numerous hours playing video games. However, Daniel never put off his studies. He accomplished maintaining Honor Roll status throughout his elementary and middle school years. He began his seventh grade school year in a new location, entering Hayfield Secondary School in Alexandria, Virginia. He continued to strive towards excellence in his grades, all while maintaining a part-time job. No matter the distance, he always made his way back to the Eastern shore to spend adequate time with his childhood friends who he loved liked brothers. Daniel was true friends to those in his circle, and the brotherhood they shared was unmatched. 

Daniel had a deep love for his family. His relationship with his mother was a beautiful testament to the young man she was raising him to become. He enjoyed spending Sunday mornings with his grandmother at the Kingdom Hall. The holiday and school breaks were spent surrounded by the comforting joy that could only be provided by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

After graduating with Honors, Daniel's pursuit of a career in Cyber Security led him to his enrollment at Virginia State University. He was a current Sophomore majoring in Computer Engineering. Daniel's overwhelming desire to succeed and be a great provider to his sons, Rome and Yasir, gave him many business ideas to put into motion. 

Although, it was a young life taken entirely too soon, it was a life well lived. Often traveling the world with his mother and brother, Daniel was well cultured. He loved experiencing new places, foods and activities. He had many conversations with his mother about affording his sons with the same experiences. 

Daniel leaves to cherish his memories: his sons Rome (3) and Yasir (1); mother, Tara; father, Elwood; his brother, Joshua Wharton; other half siblings, Daijah, Elijah, Elona, Emmanuel, Eliyah, Ezirah, Braylen; grandmothers, Gwendolyn Davis and Betty Miles; aunts, Jill, Nakia, Danielle, Jamila, Debrah, Leslie, and Latoya; uncles, Frazier, Latrell, Devon, Isaiah, Jeremy, and Travis; the mothers of his children, Paris and Rhodesia; and a host of relatives and friends. Daniel was a beautiful young soul who will never be forgotten.
