CELEBRATING AARON 


Aaron Leon Ayers, Sr., was born in Accomack, Virginia to the late Joseph and Laura Taylor Ayers on June 29, 1919. Aaron departed this life on November 27, 2021 at Citadel Nursing Home in Nassawadox, Virginia. 
 

Aaron was educated in the public schools of Accomack County. At an early age Aaron accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. "Daddy" was he affectionately called by his children loved to hear the preached word and listen to his gospel music. 
Aaron worked as a barber for over 70 years. 

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Upshur-Ayers, three sons, James Ayers, Abron Ayers, and Ernest Ayers, one daughter, Laura Mae Hudson, three sisters, Josephine Chandler, Gladys Chandler, and Susie Jubilee, and one brother, James Ayers. 
 

To cherish fond memories: Margaret Brooks, Rosie Mae Finney, Aaron Ayers Jr., David (Carvis) Ayers, Purnell (Shelley) Ayers, Leon (Sueann) Ayers, Wayne (Cynitha) Ayers, Andrew Jones, Josephine Sample, Cathy (Richard) Johnson, and Tammy Sample. One special niece, Laura Dijol. One special nephew, Norman Chandler Jr., thirty-five grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends and Mount Calvary Baptist Church Family.
