It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mary Madeline (Mageline) Spady who departed this life peacefully at the age of 84 on June 28, 2025, surrounded by family and love.

Born on March 14, 1941, to Minnie and Elsie Spady, in Bayview Va.  Mary Madeline (Mageline) Spady lived a life full of rhythm, laughter, and grace. Music was her heartbeat, and dancing was her soul’s expression. Whether swaying to oldies in the kitchen, clapping her hands or lighting up the floor at family gatherings, she brought joy to every moment. Her laughter was a melody of its own, and her presence made every room feel warmer.

She was not only a lover of music and dance but also a mother who loved and cherished all of her family. She raised her children with an unwavering love of family, gentle strength, and a firm belief in the power of kindness. Her wisdom, resilience, and joyful spirit will remain with us always.

Mary Madeline (Mageline) Spady was preceded in death by Son, Michael Lewis, Mother and father Minnie and Elsie Smith Spady, Sisters Phyllis Spady, Pauline Spady, Lula Spady, Dorthy Spady Harden, grandchildren Nekisha Tryphena Spady, Lyons, Horsley Edwards, great-grandchildren children Yacia Scott, and Buddyboy Goffigon( birth name Daqueese Xmiere Spady), Son in Law Edward, Collin Powell, Cleothus V. Spady and brother-in-law Jonny Williams, Nephew, Vernon Spady,  Lynwood Spady, Nieces, Tracy Williams, Deneen Spady Brody and great nephew Derick Spady. She leaves behind children, Shirley Spady Powell-Tazewell (Richard Tazewell), Daniel Lewis III (Senora Scipio Lewis),Tyrone Lewis daughter of the heart Melissa J. Hines, grandchildren Cleothus Vanness Spady II, RajShan Omar Spady, Monte Lloyd, and JaNiya Joynes,Great-grandchildren, Rhyneekqua Nyshara Mucia Spady, Demetruius Jacquese Spady, Shi-Kaylia Kiera Jamiya Camp-Lyons(Jeremiah), Amariiyona Larnette Leshay Princess Lyons, Merci Yarnae Shirlee Lyons Hinton(Cimeon), Antoine Terrell Horsley Jr., Keleah Mar’je Horsley,  Zykey Jerimiah Micah Blake, great-great grandchildren MaKayla Moody, Isaiah Spady, Corrine Spady, Raegan Spady, Cimari Zion Hinton, Mehkari Lyons, Zaelyn Cimere Hinton, Makayla Fletcher Mckenzi Fletcher, Micah Spady, AriElle Saye Tryphena Shylie Camp-Lyons, Raj-Shi Spady, 3 others in NC, 1 in Va beach. siblings, Christine Williams, Minnie Spady and Gloria Tate. Nieces and Nephews Wyona Williams, Terence Williams, Sherwood Spady, Teresa Spady Lewis, Phyllis Spady, Kimberly Spady, Marvin Spady, Chrystal Williams Thomas, Joycelyn Williams, Jerilyn Williams (JayWan), Angela Spady, Melvin Spady, Alber Spady, Richard Tate, Atiya Tate Mosely, Teresa Tate. She also leaves behind a host of loved family members too numerous to mention. Countless cherished friends and all who had the privilege of sharing a dance or a song with her as she popped her fingers or clapped her hands and, yes occasionally she would show you she could still dance at 84. 

Though the music here has paused, we know she’s dancing among the stars now.
