Marlene Sheriean Wescott Obituary
Marlene Sheriean Wescott (Heath), was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 22, 1940 to the late Napoleon Heath and Beatrice Harmon. She peacefully departed from this life on March 11, 2026 at Riverside Hospital in Onley, Virginia. At the age of three years old, Marlene lived in Virginia with her grandmother and moved back to Philadelphia with her mother after the death of her grandmother.
Marlene attended Hare Valley Elementary and Northampton High School. She graduated high school in Philadelphia. She took additional courses at Baltimore Community College. She later worked many years at Honeywell, where she had an administrative position.
Marlene adored her son, Leroy Jr., and did everything she could to make him happy. This was one of the things that led her to relocating back to Exmore, Virginia and where her ex-husband Leroy Sr., came to live with her and made the family complete again. Sadly, he passed away in October 2025 and she missed him very much.
For her enjoyment, Marlene and her cousin Sarah listened to music often. She also loved to read and use the computer. She ordered many items using the computer. Marlene struggled with finding a bed that provided her with comfort. Nevertheless, she enjoyed the theater and traveling, when she could. She was adamant about keeping up with African information. Marlene liked nice things and also in her later life, she worked at Boscov’s Department Store.
Marlene had a few friends, Karen and Nikey and two close cousins, Sarah and Alice Jane.
Marlene loved her stepmother, Mildred Heath (deceased), her sister Joan Eleanor and brothers Napoleon Jr. (deceased) and Edward Sr. (deceased). Marlene loved many things but she was afraid of water in movies, pictures, oceans, lakes and especially when she visited Niagara Falls during a vacation.
Marlene leaves to mourn her beloved son Leroy Wescott Jr., sister Joan Eleanor Belt, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. She will truly be missed.
