Lucille Elizabeth Spady Obituary

Lucille Elizabeth Spady, daughter of the late Robert Lee Spady,Sr. and Grace Wilson Spady, was born on March 24, 1934 in Eastville Station, VA. 

She received her education in Northampton County Public Schools, where she graduated in 1951. After completing her education, Lucille traveled to Trenton, New Jersey to live with her brother, the late Robert Lee Spady, Jr. Lucille was not one to stay away from home too long so she returned to Virginia.  She began working at G.L. Webster (a.k.a Kane Miller) where she stayed for 30 years. She stopped working to stay at home as a caregiver for her parents, grandparents and uncles. Lucille once again returned to the workforce. This time as a custodial worker at Kiptopeake Elementary, where she served for 14 years.

Lucille was a lifelong member of Bethel AME Church. She accepted Christ at an early age and continued to labor for the Lord as a Senior Usher., Class Leader and member of the Kitchen Ministry.

Lucille, “Mercy”, “Cill Mobile” or “Lucy”, as she was affectionately known by family and friends was a very loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was loved by all who encountered her and her presence and loving spirit will be truly missed.

Lucille departed this life on March 5, 2015 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memories and continue her legacy her “Toot Toot” Irving Jarvis (Eastville,VA); 3 children Kerry(Deidre) Spady (Orlando,FLA), Shelley(Purnell) Ayres (Exmore,VA) and Odette(Marion Jr.) White (Fort White,TX); 8 grandchildren La’Wanda Jarvis (Nassawadox,VA), Tenika Jarvis (Exmore,VA), Nikkia(Charles) Harrison (Virginia Beach,VA), Darius Spence (Delaware), Marion White III and Regine White, Alayah(Dale) Farley and Bre’Gette Williamson
(Orlando,FLA); 3 great-grandchildren Tyasia’Ne and Na’Rod Jarvis (Nassawadox,VA) and My’Leah White (Chesapeake,VA); 2 sisters Ellen Jones (Philadelphia,PA) and Gertrude Spady (Trenton,NJ); a special niece who was just like a daughter to her, Antoinette Spady (Machipongo,VA), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and a very special family friend, Margaret George.

Lucille was predeceased in death by her sisters Lawrence Spady and AdaBee Fitchett and her brother Parry Spady.
