John Henry Wiggins Obituary
The Life Story
JOHN WIGGINS, affectionately known as John Henry was the son of the late Marcus Wiggins Sr. and Lougene Neville Wiggins. He was born on November 16, 1946 in Cheriton, Virginia.
On the evening of Tuesday, June 2, 2015, God came to John's bedside with His host of Angels and whispered softly, "Your fight is now over, there will be no more pain and no more suffering."
John Henry loved life, family and education. At a very early age, he had a thirst for learning and acquiring knowledge. John attended Northampton County Public Schools, where he graduated high school in 1965. John enlisted in the United States Army soon after graduation where he proudly served his country. After leaving the Army, John went on to obtain his Bachelors Degree at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He continued his education at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, where he earned a Medical Degree and became a Physician Assistant.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Hazel Lee Wiggins. From this union they were blessed with four children, one who preceded him in death.
John had a love for music, although he loved all genres of music, Jazz was his favorite. He would sit and listen to his jazz albums for hours. John was an avid reader. He thoroughly enjoyed reading medical and history books. He enthusiastically shared his love for reading with his children and grandchildren.
In 1995, John met and fell in love with Henriette Kamdem and her three children. John and Henriette wed in 1997, and resided in Greenbelt, Maryland. John and Henriette enjoyed spending quality time with family, especially the children and grandchildren. John and Henriette both had a passion for the medical profession. John was a trusted source for medical advice and offered it to anyone that needed it.
John Henry retired from the Department of Corrections in 2006 and moved back to his hometown of Cape Charles, Virginia. He joined First Baptist Church of Cape Charles, where he was an active member up until his time of sickness. John loved his church family and wanted to help create programs that would empower the youth in the community.
John was a fun loving and charismatic man who had a zest for life. When asked how he was, he would always answer, "I Am Divine" because he believed he was a man of God and he was unique to his surroundings. John Henry took great pride in the message he conveyed to whomever he was engaged in conversation, no matter what the topic was; current events, religious beliefs, politics, or just everyday life. John Henry was indeed a great man and will surely be missed.
John leaves to cherish his loving memories: his loving wife, Henriette Wiggins; three sons, Giama Wiggins, Henry Kamdem (Irene Kamdem) and Joackson Kamdem; three daughters, Kiloma Wiggins, Oyinma Wiggins (Daniel Miller) and Peguy tallack (Neil tallack); two sisters; Alice Ames and Maggie Moses; one brother; Lonnie Wiggins; his aunt, Martha Boswer; eight grandchildre, Sukanya Wiggins, Elijah Wiggins, Skylah Miller, Sanaya Moore, Tyler Tallack, Joshua Tallack, Nathan Tallack and Christine Kamdem; he also leaves to cherish in his memories, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
