James Alfred Kellam Obituary

James Alfred Kellam, 74 years old of Franktown, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his home in Franktown, Virginia on April 20, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 18, 1950 in Franktown, Virginia.

James finished school at a very young age to support his family. James lived a long and good life, filled with many days of hard work in the agricultural industry.  He really enjoyed farming, cutting firewood and selling strawberries. 

James was a very hardworking man and he showed strong dedication to his profession. He definitely demonstrated  perseverance, he never gave up, even on his sickest days. James was very well known to many and well respected. He departed his earthly home doing what he loved most, picking up firewood. 

James was preceded in death by his son Jamie Nottingham, sisters Corrine Upshur and Helen Kellam, brothers George Kellam and Hilton Kellam. 

James leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife Christine Kellam, brother Yasalee Kellam, sister Maryann Kellam, sons James Cummings, James Kellam, Nicholas Young and Calvin Young, daughters Shaundra Young and Kesha Kellam, ten grandchildren Devonta Young, Alyssa Dawkins, James Cummings Jr., A’naiya Cummings, Nicholas Young Jr., Arianna Young, Zymere Young, Calvin Young, Kevin White, Tiana McBride and one great-grandchild Rylei Walker, a host of nieces, nephews, friends and associates
