Herman Walker Jr. Obituary

Herman Lee Walker Jr., widely known as Squirrel, was born on June 26, 1952, to Sarah M. Walker and the late Herman Lee Walker, Sr. “Squirrel”, as he was fondly called, was reared on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, and educated in the Northampton County Public Schools. “Squirrel” worked as a poultry worker and then as a mechanic at Freddie’s Garage. He worked different jobs
throughout his years. Squirrel enjoyed doing things with his hands as he loved fixing grass cutters, cars, and cooking.  He loved to cook sweet potato pies. Squirrel enjoyed traveling and attending drag races with his late best friend, Freddie Elmadorf. When Squirrel was younger, he loved engaging in activities such as swimming, hunting, and fishing with his siblings.  Anyone that met or encountered Squirrel loved him because of his sense of humor. He took pride in making others laugh with his constant jokes and sarcasm. Squirrel referred to everyone as “Small Brain and Pea Brain” and made the statements “You ain’t got nothing to think with, then stay out my business.”  Squirrel was untouchable in his mind and his dog’s mind “Tiny”. Squirrel would call Tiny’s name and she would come to his rescue. Squirrel was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and he will be greatly missed. On November 12, 2023, Squirrel was called home to be with the Lord. Squirrel was predeceased by his father: Herman Lee Walker Sr., and brothers: George Walker and Ronald Walker. He is survived by: his loving mother, Sarah M. Walker of Exmore, Virginia; two daughters, Cheneka (Mario) Davis-Watson of Parksley, Virginia and Towannia Williams of Exmore, Virginia; three sons, Lionel (Zarah) Walker of Laurel, Delaware, Shawn (Annika) Walker of Brooklyn, New York, and Maurice Walker of Brooklyn, New York; one sister, Gloria Wilcox of Vineland, New Jersey; and four brothers, Fred Walker of Exmore, Virginia, Jerry (Cindy) Walker of Caneyville, Kentucky, Burley Walker of Exmore, Virginia, and Harold Walker of Exmore, Virginia; twenty-two grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and special friends, Andrew Jones, K.T., Fatman, and Eric Doughty.
