George Bell Obituary

George Allen Bell (Crudup) was born on July 8, 1940 to the late George and Annie Bell of Polkville, Mississippi. He peacefully transitioned from this life to eternal rest on Wednesday,
February 18, 2026 in Suffolk, Virginia.

Born in Polkville, Mississippi, George was affectionately known as “George Allen” to his family and friends. He was educated in Mississippi. He loved music and was especially passionate
about playing the bass guitar with his, stepdad, Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup, his brothers, JC and Ju-Baby, and his close friend, Charles Moore. He enjoyed watching Western films and
treasured family gatherings. He especially cherished the time he spent with his son, Willie Lee Williams, whose devoted care and unwavering love brought him great comfort during his
illness. He also shared a special bond with Kisha Bowers, whom he affectionately called his daughter-in-law.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his son, Keith Lamont Harmon; daughter, Portia Christian; four brothers, Jonas Crudup, Percy Lee, Smitty Crudup, and James
(Paula) Crudup; and four sisters, Authureen Crudup, Joe Willie, Annie Pearl, and Hattie Ruth Bell.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Willie Lee Williams of Suffolk, Virginia and Lionel Allen Harmon of Alabama; one brother, John Lee Bell of West Palm Beach, Florida; and two
sisters, Angel Dell Bell of Apopka, Florida, and Preshell Crudup of Houston, Texas. He also leaves treasured memories with thirteen grandchildren, Earl D. (Shantaye) Saunders, Portia
(Jason) Sinclair, Cedric Davis, LeeShawn Davis, and Cairo Jeremiah Harmon; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
