Edith Bell was born September 9, 1957 in Courtland, Virginia.
She passed into her eternal rest on January 5th, 2024.
Edith loved Bingo, playing deuces, spending time with family and friends, and
taking care of people. She graduated from Northampton High School and
attended Delmarva Beauty Academy where she received her cosmetology
license. She graduated with an associates degree as a Medical Assistant from
ESCC. After working at Horace Barbershop for several years, Edith went on to
work as Assistant Manager at GooseCreek. Then, she worked at Caring Touch
where she worked until her health began to fail.
Edith was preceded in death by: her father, Lorenzo “James” Stith; her mother,
Rosalyn “Shug” Stith; her brothers, Daniel “Danny” Stith and Arthur “Mess” Stith;
her sister, Thelma Stith; two nephews and two great nephews; sisters-in-love,
Velvetina Ware and Annette Addison and ex-husband, Louis “Duke” Bell.
Edith leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Antonio Bell (Concetta) Painter,
VA; her daughters, Erica Brown (Travis) Cape Charles, VA and Teniya Bell (Larry)
Eastville, VA; her sisters, Gloria “Print” Hicks, Fayetteville, NC, Wanda Stith,
Fairview, VA, and JoAnn Benn, Franklin, VA.; her brothers, Stanley Benn,
Courtland, VA and Lorenzo “Pete” Stith (Shelly), Bayview, VA; her uncle, Joe Willy
Stith, Franklin, VA; her aunts, Bessie Holloway, Eastville, VA and Mary Ricks,
Fairview, VA; her grandchildren, Aschel’lai, NaTaya, Kyasia, Travis Jr., Jaeda,
Za’Riya, Joshua, D.J, Larry, Jonathan, Lakiyah, Chad, Ahmear, Avani, Ahlani, Mya,
Ali, and Brielle; a host of bonus grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins,
extended family and friends, and bestfriends/cousins/sisters: Paige Luster,
Yvettee Harris, Leshaun Boatwright, Marie Stith, and Mary Drummond.
