David expanded our minds and broadened our middles with the most generous joy. He shrank our wallets and trimmed our egos with cackling glee. His lightsaber wit, his lovely prickly Englishness, this uncanny and relentless pursuit of knowledge of all things fun or serious or beautiful or of all things fun and serious and beautiful and perhaps worth eating… and his eagerness and passion for sharing it all with your friends and family…. It will never be replaced. We loved to listen. We loved to come along. We all did, and we all loved you, and we are lucky.
