Corine C. Fisher Obituary

Corine Custis Fisher, ninety seven of Exmore, Virginia, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at her residence with her daughter by her side.

Corine was born to the late Stanley F. Custis, Sr. and Lucy Ann Custis on July 9, 1927 in Northampton County, Virginia. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Frank T. Fisher, Sr., sons Bobby Custis Sr. and Larry Fisher; brothers Stanley Forest Custis, Sr., James Clifton Custis and Norman Custis, two grandsons Bobby Custis Jr., and Frank T. Fisher III. Corine pursued her education within the Northampton County Public Schools in Virginia.

Throughout her life, Corine exemplified kindness, grace, compassion, an appreciation for beauty and a keen sense of fashion. She cherished her family and friends and consistently expressed gratitude for a long life enriched with diverse and remarkable experiences.

Corine’s life can be described by these aspects: worship, family, gardening of flowers and vegetables, food and enjoyment. During her ninety seven years, she cherished spending quality time with her family, who were of utmost importance to her. She frequently traveled across many states with her late husband, Frank. Corine was very passionate about attending worship service at the Israel of God in Richmond, Virginia, under the leadership of Senior Pastor Henry Buie, until her health began to decline; reading her Bible, watching Bible study lessons and listening to gospel music. She also enjoyed watching the Jeopardy game show. Corine’s favorite scriptures were 2nd Timothy 4:7 and Psalm 91.

Corine leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and devoted daughter, Lucy M. Fisher, sons Frank (Rosetta) Fisher Jr., Charles (Cordell’s) Fisher, Nilemorvin (Londa) Fisher, and Clide (Linda) Fisher, sisters-in-law Adel Fisher, Maggie Custis and Annie Custis, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a multitude of extended family members and friends, and a special friend (like a sister) Mary Ann Barnett.
