Clinton Orzell Coles Obituary

Clinton Ozell Coles was born to James and Edna

Coles on August 8, 1965, in Philadelphia, PA. He

started on his new journey to heaven on Saturday,

February 21, 2026.

Ozell was affectionately called “Big O” by many. He was

sent to Beeber Middle School for students that showed

exceptional skills in math, science and research. He graduated

from Overbrook High school in 1983. He attended Eastern

Shore Community College where he studied photography.

Ozell always had a desire for knowledge and a willing spirit to

uplift and help others. He learned to do mechanical work from

our father, our brother, and uncles when he moved to Virginia

with our parents in 1983. His knowledge of mechanics led to

his interest in motorcycles and trucks. His love of motorcycles

led him to being President and founder of the Eastern

Shore’s Street Soulz Motorcycle Club.

Ozell was a hard devoted worker for the Virginia Gas

Company for approximately 15 years and then for the

Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel April 1, 2006 until his

untimely passing on February 21, 2026. He loved a variety of

music including a gospel song by a group called Home

Free entitled “My Church”.

Ozell was preceded in death by his father, James Coles;

mother, Edna Coles; grandmother, Catherine Sturgis;

grandfather, Pernell Sturgis Sr.; two brothers, Roy and David

Coles; sister, Jeanie Jones; two uncles, Preston and Pernell

Sturgis Jr.; two aunts, Georgia Mae Harmon and Juanita

Sturgis.

Ozell leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Kia Coles

and Patrick Coles of Exmore, VA.; their mother, Louise

Campbell of Exmore, VA; god-daughter, La’Roya Smith of

Denton, MD; two loving brothers, Lenell Coles of Painter, VA,

Brian (Fran) Coles of Byram, MS; one sister, Marsha (Sammy Sr.)

Green of Philadelphia, PA; three grandkids, Kam Coles and

Lauren Coles of Exmore, VA; M J Coles of Exmore, VA,; his close

friend, Dannette Muller of Norfolk, VA and a host of nieces,

nephews, cousins and friends.
