Catherine Johnson-Hunt

Catherine Johnson Hunt affectionately known as "Puddin" was born on May 27, 1945 to the late Austin Thomas Johnson and Katherine Sampson Johnson. Catherine was employed by the Portsmouth Public School System for 47 years until her retirement. After retiring she was employed for St. Christopher Catholic School for 10 years until God called her home. 

As a young child she was a member of Divine Baptist Church under the late Rev. John R. Briggs. Later on during her life she joined Olive Branch Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. J B Sharpe and current Pastor, Rev. Michael Williams. 

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Theodore Hunt, her siblings Benjamin, Clara, Moses, Edna, Willie Lee, and Verbena. She leaves to cherish fond memories: three daughters, Clara Harrison (Gary), Theresa Hunt, and Shemerria Robinson; two sons, Antonio Hunt (Lisa) and Theodore Hunt (Sharon) of Chesapeake, Virginia; a great grandson, Deshawn Hunt, whom she loved and adored dearly, she would always say, "THAT IS MY DESHAWN"; and a great nephew Benjamin Johnson, who she raised as her very own; one and only living sibling, Lorithenia J. Butts (Autry); 13 grandchildren, Lakesha Hunt, Catherine Hunt, Anthony Hunt, Antwan Hunt, Shemrria Hunt, Dazmone Joseph, Demetria Hunt, Kianna Mosley, Kierra Robinson, Jamel Harrison, Rakeem Harrison, Tikeria Carney, and Tamika Carney; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, friends and coworkers.
