Baby A’zariyah Burton

On March 30, 2023, a Burton family Baby Shark slipped into eternal rest at the tender age of 2, at the Children’s Hospital of King’s Daughter in Norfolk, Virginia. 

A’zariyah was born in Northampton County, Virginia, on April 21, 2020, to Erick Ferguson and Tiesha Burton. 

Zari, as she was affectionately called, was a complete joy to be around. She had the sweetest little voice and the prettiest brown eyes. A’zariyah had an old soul that made everyone smile and caused everyone to admire her beauty. Zari and her mother had a captivating bond and an awesome daily routine. 

A’zariyah had a love for chicken nuggets, noodles, and hotdogs. She did not mind sharing her food with her little sister and would especially sneak food to her best new puppy friend, Mooka. Mooka was good for Zari’s soul. He brought out the biggest smiles from Zari. The two would run together and you would catch Zari laughing so hard. 

Zari had so much joy in her. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved watching the birds and airplanes fly. She was a HUGE Baby Shark fan, and you find her listening to the song for hours on her tablet. Everything had to be Baby Shark in her book. 

A’zariyah is survived by her parents: Erick Ferguson and TieshaBurton; her sister: Zhaliyah Layanni Simpkins; her maternal grandparents: Karen Burton and William James; her paternal grandparents: Elise Ferguson and Arthur Collins, her aunt: Kesha James; uncle: Devin Burton; a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends. 

A’zariyah’s sweet face and beautiful spirit will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
