Arthur Lee Stevens Obituary

Arthur Lee Stevens was born October 7, 1953. He was the son of the late Johnny Jarvis and Earnestine Ophelia Elder Stevens. He was the stepson of the late Thomas Stevens. 

Arthur was a member of First Baptist Church for many years. He attended regularly until his began to fail. 

He loved football. His favorite team was the Washington Redskins, whether won or loss. He loved people. He never met a stranger. He had mad live for his family and especially the great grandchildren. He was a father to all of the children from the Darkside. 

Arthur was a hard worker. He drove trucks for five years and worked for Perdue. Not only that but he drive the bus for Northampton County Public Schools for 30 plus years. He was a custodian for the school system as well for many years. 

Arthur departed this life November 19, 2018 in Norfolk, Virginia at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. 

He leaves to cherish his memories: 

Wife- Barbara Ann Stevens 

Children- Arthur L. Stevens, Jr. (LaToya), Quincy D. Washington (Keisha), Natasha A. Battle (David), Ella L. Battle, Deon Rogers, and Jake Upshur. 

Grandchildren- Brittant Ross, Arthur L. Stevens III, Jaylen, Malayah, Quaisha, Quincy, Bradyn, QuayShawn, Rayne, QuiaShia, Kihya, Deondre, Mikel, Tyshon, Brittany Harris, Chabli, Malcom, Kaiya, and David. 

Great Grandchildren- Isaiah, Karter, Kaarlo, Lauren, Peyton, Mar’Khal, Vayson, and Mya. 

Brothers- Melvin Elder, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Thomas Elder, Weirwood, Virginia, Earl Stevens (Michelle), Hartford, Connecticut, Fred Stevens (Patricia), Painter, Virginia, and David Stevens, Hampton, Virginia. 

Sisters- Odell Elder, Virginia, Earnestine Jones (Lonnie), Richmond, Virginia, Lillian Viola Jones, Richmond, Virginia, and Daisy Ann Stevens, Fayetteville, North Carolina. 

Uncle- Irving Jarvis, Eastville, Virginia. 

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
