The Beginning

Alwern B. Matthews was born on July 11, 1959 in Northampton County, Virginia.

 

The Journeys

Alwern Matthews was a truck driver by trade; it was his livelihood and passion. He was a caring and loving son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, and friend. He attended school in Accomack County, Virginia where he graduated and attended Norfolk State University briefly before picking up the truck driving trade. Alwern was raised by his Grandmother Maddie Morgan (predeceased), Grandfather Clarance Morgan (predeceased), and Mother Dorothy Johnson (predeceased)

 

The End

On November 23, 2013 Alwern passed on leaving precious memories for family and friends to cherish. Alwern was survived by his father George Nottingham. Two Aunts: Jennie Nottingham, and Amanda Nottingham. Two Uncles: Edward and Lawrence Nottingham. Two Sisters: Jeanette Sessoms (Felton), Sarah Satchell (Chester). Three Brothers: George Nottingham Jr., Calvin Matthews, and Joey Johnson. Common Law Wife Patricia Jordan, Stepdaughter Marsharee Jordan, Grandchildren: Mysharee, Myzahne, and Angelo. Nieces: Chelsea Satchell and Tamika Nottingham, Nephews: Justin Satchell and Larry Nottingham. He was also survived by an abundance of first cousins and friends.
