Albert James Walker, Sr., better known to his family and friends as “Sonny” or “Fat Albert”, departed from life on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the age of seventy-seven, surrounded by his wife, family and friends. Albert had several different jobs from working on the farm for Bobby Synder in Weirwood, VA to working with horses in New York and finally he worked for 22 years at Perdue Farms in Accomac VA until he retired. Albert loved singing gospel with the Inspirational Burden Lifters.  He also loved talking about the Lord as well as spending time with his wife, 
grandkids, greatgrands and his children talking about the old days. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Mable and Roland Walker; his three sisters, Shirley Walker, Susie Walker and Diane Upshur Showell; and one brother, Curtis Walker. Albert leaves to cherish his memories: the love of his life, his wife, Louise Walker; daughter, Joyce Walker Smith (Terry) of Reidsville NC; three sons, Albert Walker, Jr. (Celoria) of Greensboro NC, Corey Beckett of Belle Haven VA and Anthony Walker of Reidsville NC; five sisters, Maggie Walker of Trehernville VA, Mable Mason (Preston) of Birdsnest VA, Laura Smith (James) of Painter VA, Geraldine Johnson (Donald) of Weirwood VA, Karen Upshur of Seaford Delaware; six brothers, Roland Walker (Hattie) of Melfa 
VA, George Walker (Leslie) of Exmore VA, Roy Walker of Bridgeville DE, Kenneth Walker of Jamesville VA, Terry Upshur (Wileen) of Milton DE, Michael Upshur (Inez) of Milton DE; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five greatgrand children and a host of other family and friends; three special grandchildren, Ja’Mes Nelson of Salisbury MD, Zha’Mon Walker of Nassawadox VA, Eugene    Walker of Nassawadox VA; two special aunts, Lucille        Johnson of Richmond VA and Dorthy Mae  Christian; two caretakers, Lakesha Christian and Maesha Johnson and two close friends, Bobby Jones and Lonnie Johnson.
