Rachel Ray Bullock

On Tuesday July 16, 2019 God’s heavenly angels welcomed the spirit of Rachel Ray Bullock into her heavenly home. She was born on May 7, 1933 to the late Sam and Mary Gary of Enfield, North Carolina. 

In her early years she relocated to Newport News, Virginia with her parents. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior at an early age. Rachel was one of the first students to graduate from George Carver High School in 1950.

Rachel worked for Newport News Public Schools for 20 years as a bus driver, where she earned many awards for her safe driving. At the age of 17 Rachel married the love of her life Wilbert Bullock and from that union twelve children were born. 

She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Wilbert Bullock; two sons, Timothy and Carl: and one daughter, Sharon Bullock. 

Rachel leaves to cherish her precious memories: six sons, Gregory Sr., Wilbert, Vincent, Larry, Reginald, and Randall(Angela); three daughters, Charlene (Mac), Sandra(Robert), and Millicent; twenty three grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Rachel also leaves to cherish her best friend of 70 years, Sarah Binns.
